Servers can use the Web, too.

Other than copyright restrictions, nothing prevents a web server from acting as a browser itself, recursively making requests to other servers for information that it needs to provide its service.

At the moment, this technique is not widely practiced (though, see example), as the output of most servers is designed for direct human consumption, rather than reprocessing by another server. Present implementations also tend to be too slow.
